Zorn was lucky that he wasn't fired outright

While most of these issues are the result of his supporting cast and the fact that Tampa has been forced to abandon the ground attack because they're usually playing from behind, Williams’ fantasy value has tanked since he got off to a surprisingly hot start. Hit me up on Twitter: JoeFortenbaugh. Happy (early) Turkey Day, everyone. The Lions should be thankful that they have a victory, let alone two, and Jim Zorn should be thankful that he still has a job.In no particular order, here are 10 things that the NFL should be thankful for. At the end of the article, there will be one thing the NFL should NOT be thankful for (hint: it's about the Seattle Seahawks)..

You remember that hit that kept Tom Brady on the sidelines for the entire 2008 season Some people thought it could end his career.Luckily for the Patriots (and New England football over the next decade), it wasn't as bad as it was once thought to be.Now Brady's back and playing great football once again Sure, the Pats are 6-3 Far from 2007's 19-1. But they're leading their division, and that's a good sign for Brady. The UFL entered the pro sports scene with garish uniforms and no-name players. Kind of what you expect for an upstart football league trying to rival the NFL and NCAA football.I think the UFL brass will see that challenging the NFL and NCAA wasn't such a good choice. They should've tried spring football, like the USFL in the 1980's, or maybe summer football.Trying to rival two behemoths in the NFL and NCAA is a David and Goliath type task. The only difference is, there's two Goliaths and David is in a really bad outfit. Also, the football played in the UFL is just flat out bad The broadcasting of the UFL needs work too. As a matter of fact, the commentators and the sideline reporters all need work. And I've seen more screw-ups of routine plays while watching the UFL than while watching high school football. The NFL should be thankful for the UFL because of the low quality of broadcasting and of football.

The UFL scared away potential fans, who quickly ran back to the NFL. I was one of those guys who gave the UFL a chance, and in hindsight I really shouldn't have The NFL has the fans, the players, and the glamour The UFL has...collegiate backups. I think I made the right choice by going back to the NFL.. Even Jim Zorn is saying, "What the hell am I still doing here"Zorn was basically demoted to "Co-Defensive Coordinator" after the Washington Redskins took away his offensive play calling duties.Zorn was lucky that he wasn't fired outright.
